The importance of youth academies, Valencia.

August 02, 2022, Madrid

Not everything is profesional soccer, we learn from the inside about the importance of the youth academies in professional clubs.

In modern soccer not everything is focused on the first team players and professional sport, one of the most important bases of the clubs are their youth academies, the young promises that someday hopefully will become part of the first team of the club. For this reason, the management of youth academies is increasingly taken to the next level, not only focusing on the national level, but also on the international level.

Our students of the Master in Management, Methodology and Analysis in Football traveled to Valencia with the aim of learning more about how the departments in charge of the youth academy in first division clubs are managed and how they work.
In their first stop, they visited Paterna, Valencia Club de Fútbol's sports city, where they received several presentations about the organization of youth academies, their working methods and how they manage the regional, national and international recruitment of players. Afterwards, they went to watch the training of the youth team and Valencia Mestalla (the club's men's subsidiary team).
They continued their visit to Valencia, this time at the facilities of Levante Unión Deportiva, where they visited the club's facilities and received presentations on the methodology for evaluating the performance of youth players and the organization of the internal structure, as well as the internal tools for evaluating reports. Finally, they attended the training session of the División de Honor youth team and the women's team.
