LALIGA Week – Taiwan: Intensive Training for Future Sports Leaders

October 01, 2025, Madrid

A group of 18 students from Taiwan participates in LALIGA Week, the intensive program by LALIGA Business School, to explore the professional football industry in Spain.

A group of 18 students selected by the Taiwanese government had the opportunity to experience the professional football industry in Spain firsthand, thanks to the edition of LALIGA Week, an international intensive training program led by LALIGA BUSINESS SCHOOL

The initiative is part of the “Taiwan Global Pathfinders Initiative Program”, which seeks to identify and train young talents with the potential to lead the development of the sports industry in Taiwan. Out of 132 applicants, only 18 were chosen to enjoy this unique experience from September 13 to 26, 2025.

Over the course of two weeks, the Taiwanese students traveled to three iconic Spanish cities for football: Madrid, Valencia, and Sevilla. In each city, they participated in a full itinerary of lectures, workshops, and practical activities led by professionals from clubs such as Atlético de Madrid, Getafe CF, Sevilla FC, Real Betis, and Villarreal CF.

The program allowed participants to understand how the world’s largest football ecosystem operates, exploring key areas such as club and stadium management, global brand development, digital strategy, and LALIGA’s international projects. The experience combined theory and practice, offering a comprehensive approach to professional football management and the international expansion of the Spanish league.

A bridge between cultures and sports industry

LALIGA Week aims to foster international relationships and introduce LALIGA’s management methodology to future sports leaders through immersive experiences. Previous editions of the program have involved partnerships with institutions and organizations such as Lagos Business School (Nigeria), Universidad Externado de Colombia, and the Dominican Football League, reinforcing LALIGA’s commitment to internationalizing its training and business model.

With Taiwan joining the program, the Spanish league strengthens its commitment to expand its global influence and create opportunities for young talents in different regions. “It is an honor for LALIGA to welcome this group of elite students from the Taiwanese Government. Programs like this not only enrich the participants’ training but also allow us to build relationships with future sports leaders in Asia, sharing our experience and global vision of football,” said José Moya, director of LALIGA Business School.

In addition to lectures and workshops, students had access to exclusive visits to stadiums, training centers, and club offices, allowing them to understand the importance of strategic management, technological innovation, and international planning in the sports industry. The combination of theory, practice, and networking constitutes the program’s unique value.

Driving the future of sports

LALIGA Week aims not only at academic training but also at creating a long-term impact on participants’ professional careers. Through this experience, Taiwanese students acquired knowledge applicable to sports management in their own country, fostering internationalization and professionalization in football and other sports disciplines.

The program also reflects LALIGA’s commitment to education and the development of global talent, consolidating its position as a world leader in sports management. With this first edition for Taiwan, the Spanish league strengthens its international expansion and cooperation strategy, contributing to a global network of professionals ready to lead the future of sports.

In conclusion, LALIGA Week represents a bridge between cultures, knowledge, and professional opportunities, consolidating LALIGA’s leadership not only in Spain but also internationally. The 18 Taiwanese students return home equipped with tools and experiences that will allow them to drive the sports industry in their country, replicating the Spanish football model’s global vision and successful methodology.
